Joshua Hiller – Expert Business Litigation Attorney


Josh brings nearly twenty years of litigation experience representing companies and individuals in a wide variety of complex civil, commercial and business disputes. He is a dedicated, creative, and tireless advocate for clients across a multitude of industries, including technology, software, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, finance, manufacturing, construction, service providers, and professionals and executives.

Josh has experience handling disputes involving complex commercial agreements of all types, fraud, unfair business practices and other business torts, corporate governance, controversies between competitors, and intellectual property rights. In addition, Josh has defended professionals accused of personal torts and negligence, and individual and corporate clients involved in government investigations and white collar criminal defense. He has extensive experience before state and federal courts, in cases before the North Carolina and Massachusetts Business Courts, and in arbitrations.

In addition, Mr. Hiller has contributed his talents to worthy pro-bono cases. In particular, he served as the Pro-Bono Attorney Coordinator for the New England Innocence Project, an organization with the mission to use DNA evidence and testing technology to exonerate wrongfully convicted individuals.

After receiving his law degree magna cum laude from Boston University, Josh practiced at Testa Hurwitz & Thibeault, and then as Counsel at WilmerHale in Boston where he worked within the firm’s Complex Commercial Litigation and IP Litigation groups. Josh moved with his family to North Carolina in 2008, and prior to joining Calhoun, Bhella & Sechrest in 2018, he built a robust litigation practice at a firm he founded in 2011.
