PartnerEric Willis focuses his practice on all aspects of commercial finance and real estate, including real estate finance, commercial lending, real estate acquisition, land development and disposition, and leasing.
Eric assists clients in all phases of the development process, from initial due diligence, entitlements and other acquisition issues to negotiation of purchase and sale contracts, loan documents and closing documents. He is also experienced in retail and office leasing, having represented landlords and tenants in shopping center and office building leases throughout the country. Aside from development, leasing and acquisition/disposition of real estate, Eric has substantial experience in a variety of commercial lending transactions, including real estate financing, construction financing, cash flow lending, mezzanine financing and asset-based financing. He is also experienced in loan workouts and foreclosures. Throughout his career, he has represented national banks, institutional investors and other lenders in connection with commercial finance transactions secured by a variety of assets, including commercial real estate (office, multifamily, hotels, etc.), inventory and receivables. Prior to joining Calhoun, Bhella & Sechrest, Eric practiced at large, international law firms on large-scale, sophisticated financing and acquisition transactions. Eric takes a very practical, business-minded approach to practicing law, helping guide his clients through the process by focusing on key issues while not getting bogged down in minutia. |
